Stephen Porges work on how the nervous system adapts to trauma and stress is key physiology for all those who feel unable to control their bodies reaction to events around them.  If we understand these reactions as normal healthy reactions we can develop more compassion for ourselves and others and find better ways to resolve our traumas.
