About Kelly

I am a licensed acupuncturist who graduated from NCNM in 2013

My practice specializes in physical medicine and body centered psychodynamic work integrating and synthesizing many different modalities to best serve my clients.  I treat all forms of pain conditions, from knee, hip, neck and low back pain, to migraines, whiplash and menstrual cramps.  I have helped people avoid hip and knee replacements, recover from auto accidents, heal from concussions and regain mobility they thought they would never have again.  I also work on the emotional and psychological levels, using the body itself as the venue for renegotiating old traumas and developing new resources.

I help people to not just liberate themselves from pain, but to become empowered in their own bodies; to inhabit and live fully connected and embodied.

I am trained in classical Chinese acupuncture and herbal medicine derived from the Nei Jing and Shang han za bing lun.  I utilize osteopathic techniques such as craniosacral therapy and visceral manipulation, structural integration and myofascial release, as well as somatic based psychology and trauma work derived from somatic experiencing, bodynamics, psychosynthesis, and other body centered forms of mental and emotional therapy. I work with clients where they are at, and can adapt my treatment to include more or less acupuncture or bodywork depending on their need and inclination.

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

I am classically trained in Acupuncture and Chinese herbs, deriving my treatments from Nei Jing Channel theory and theory.

My needling style is both strong and gentle, with a focus on patient sensation and tolerance.

Integrated Bodywork

I am skilled in structural integration, osteopathic modalities such as craniosacral and visceral manipulation, shiatsu and myofascial release. I integrate bodywork into nearly every treatment and many clients come for bodywork only sessions. I am able to work with physical and mental/emotional trauma and injury directly through the body, as well as focus on wellness and prevention.

I had a shiatsu massage with Kelly and he seriously helped me out. I have had horrible neck pain which has been causing dizziness and headaches and he worked diligently - incredibly healing. I feel a world of difference. A perfect vibe, clean, professional, extremely friendly and effective. I highly recommend this facility – KH

Somatic Experiencing

Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a method of trauma therapy developed by Peter Levine. You may have heard of it if you have read his popular book Waking the Tiger. SE uses our neuro-physiology along with our innate capacity to access the total sensorium of our experience to renegotiate the places we are stuck, SE is unique in that it is not psychotherapy, but rather a body-based form of therapy. It can be done with and without having to tell ones story. In SE we focus on developing our interoception and the capacity to experience widely and deeply to release old wounds and live life deeper. I am currently an advanced student of the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute (S.E.T.I.).

Bazi Suanming

In an ongoing effort to better understand myself, the bazi reading I did with Kelly stands out as the most powerful and illuminating experience thus far. This reading was exact, was presented gracefully, and allowed me to navigate the conversation around key areas of my life I wanted more information on. It provided deep and actionable insights that I still use today. I did an individual and a couples bazi with Kelly. Both were eye opening and powerful. - AA

Bazi Suanming is a form of Chinese fate science similar to western astrology or feng shui. It uses the time of your birth to precisely calculate the qi at your birth, establishing the structure of energy present in your body and mind. Bazi is useful for health, self-cultivation and for helping make difficult decisions. It is a way for the sage to look upstream, to know the origins of things and how they are likely to change. Bazi can be used for all the same purposes as western Astrology, providing a unique perspective from the five phases of Chinese Metaphysics.

"... And what is it to work with love? It is to weave the cloth with threads drawn from your heart, even as if your beloved were to wear that cloth. It is to build a house with affection, even as if your beloved were to dwell in that house. It is to sow seeds with tenderness and reap the harvest with joy, even as if your beloved were to eat the fruit. It is to charge all things you fashion with a breath of your own spirit, And to know that all the blessed dead are standing about you and watching..." Kahlil Gibran, On Work, from the Prophet
